The Denver Destiny Summit is a five-day leadership, innovation, scholarship, spiritual formation, and strategy experience designed to help leaders and influencers intentionally prepare for 2027.

How Long Does Value Stay Working in a Community?
The Speed of the Dollar is a Denver Destiny Summit framework for examining how quickly financial resources and other forms of value move into, through, and out of our lives, businesses, organizations, and neighborhoods.
When money is spent locally, it can circulate through businesses, wages, suppliers, services, and community institutions before eventually leaving the local economy. This is commonly described in economics as the local multiplier effect.
What can leaders and influencers build that helps value remain, circulate, multiply, and create lasting impact?
A NOTE ABOUT THE DATA
Research strongly supports the general principle of the local multiplier effect: locally owned businesses and local supply networks can recirculate a greater portion of spending within a regional economy.
Some widely circulated estimates about the exact number of hours or days a dollar remains within particular racial or ethnic communities are frequently repeated in community-development discussions but are not consistently supported by peer-reviewed academic research.
DLU presents these figures as prompts for inquiry and discussion rather than universally established economic measurements. Our primary focus is the larger, research-supported question: How can communities create stronger systems of ownership, entrepreneurship, purchasing, investment, partnerships, and local value circulation?
